childish/loli thing. Artists can be inspired by lots of other artists, or just by existing things. I’m sure Mel was inflenced by plenty of things - Mark Ryden’s art, vintage children’s toys and fashions, and, sure, Marina and other artists if she likes them. Artists all combine things that they like with their own new ones - ideas get recylced throughout art history, so we shouldn’t put Melanie’s creations in a single box like “inspired by Marina”. It’s Melanie’s, it’s inspired by her thoughts.
